For some reason, that song has stuck with me in this last couple of weeks. I just think the lyrics are so beautiful. So with that, I decided to title my entry that, so if you don't like it.. oh well. I won't care. Haha... Anywhoo...
Sorry it's been such a long time. It's been crazy. I went on TWO Roadtrips (one with Jen L. to the Wisconsin/Illinois area and one with Kara to Nebraska) so I've been spending my time doing that and working AND GETTING READY FOR SCHOOL!!!! Which, ahem, starts in two days for me. Can you believe it? I am going to school!!!!!! It's ridiculous (I think that's my new favorite word) to think that I finally get to go to my dream school. I fought for it for the last year and a half, but it just makes it that much better. The only frustrating thing is that I haven't done ANY packing. I have been doing loads of laundry though... it's funny how much stuff I have after I do laundry, go figure. Lol. I also got boxes so I can pack up some stuff so at least I've done something.... right? Haha. I'm a procrastinator, I can't help it. The other hard thing is that actual leaving process. Like it's gonna be so different then when I went to Winona. I won't come home every weekend. I mean of course I'll still be seeing people, but it's changing. People are moving, I plan on not coming home very much... it almost feels like we are really growing up. Haha. I was actually thinking today that we haven't grown up. Yah sure some of us have gone to college, some have even graduated, but most of us are just sittin in the same place we've been. We see eachother ALL the time. I think it'll do us all some good. I really do. We have to grow up eventually, and if we don't do it soon, we'll be sad and pathetic adults. lol.
So... what else has happened? I've been working and becoming a manager and working in Shakopee and Elk River and soon i'll be at Roseville Panera... good lord. I'm a panera floosy. Hahaha... sorry, it made me laugh. Couldn't resist. As much as I don't wanna be part of the company anymore, I'd be stupid to quit. I need the money, especially with the new car I purchased... heh.. heh... I love my car. If I didn't write about it, well I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt, Victory Red. FANTASTIC if I do say so myself. =) But I have to make monthly payments now so I don't really have time to get a new job and start with a low paying wage again. Nope... so we'll see what happens with me and the future of the Panera corporation. lol.
When I was in Nebraska, I met Kara's cousin Ryan and he gave me some really good advicec for my major and my career. He told me to get an MFA (Master in Fine Arts) because then I could like get a teaching degree and teach like creative writing in high school or college or something. I could get tenure (sp?) and everything. It's kinda a failsafe in case journalism is just horrible (which they just cut so many people within the Time company) and my books dont' really get that much money. I mean, I've never really thought about teaching, but it's such a smart idea. I really like it. So I have to talk to my advisors and see what I can do. Oh exciting! I have a plan! I mean I've always HAD a plan, but it's definetly narrowing in on more realistic goals. But we'll see where the wind takes me.
I guess it's a good time to talk about my roadtrips!! The one to see Ali was awesome. I went with Jen and it was a six hour drive to Milwaukee. We ate downtown and we then went to Ali's hometown (Burlington) and then saw Marlise in Chicago and just explored. It was great! I had a really good time and I'm really happy I got to see Ali. She is someone I don't get to see very much so it was nice to even have three or so days with her. Then my seocnd roadtrip was with Kara, Jake, and his girlfriend and we went to Omaha Nebraska!! I was really happy to see Laura, even though we got in at 5AM, she went to school, we ate dinner with her, and that's about it. She had to go to Oregon the next day so our time with her was limited. Then we saw Kara's cousins and they are sweet ass people. Like they are 25 and 28 so I thought they'd act "older" but they don't. We all got along really well. I enjoyed myself. I mean on that trip, we didn't do too much, but it was really relaxing so I have no complaints on my end. I've also decided I LOVE Omaha. It's such a nice place to be. Like... it's got a downtown area, then a suburb area, and then like an area that's really open and lots of land. I wouldn't mind living there... of course I'd have to have a job and actually find courage to move... we'll see what happens. Nothing will happen ANYTIME soon.
Okay, I think that's all I got. I could go on... I want to go on, but it's already three and I haven't done anything. EEep. I promise to write more once school starts. I'll be a tad more organized and as funny as it sounds, I'll have more time... lol.. Wish me luck for school!!!
Amy
Congrats again amy. You shall have a blast in school! I think its funny though, how you see moveing away as a time for growing up and matureing...and i see it as going away to die. (Thats meant to be sarcastic). But you have yourself a wonderful time and i will see you around.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you, Amy my dear. I hope your first week goes off without a hitch. Congrats!
