Okay... maybe not everyone did this, but this is what this blog feels like! I have not been on enough to track my weekly life and of COURSE I've gotten so much to write about! So I'll start with the State Fair and then we'll flow nicely into the 5 B's (confusing huh? I'm just making you curious so you'll HAVE to read the whole blog. ahhahaahhha. I'm evil)
STATE FAIR (Wednesday) Yes. I am a girlfriend of Justin. This entails one FULL day a year where you spend the entire time awake at the Minnesota State Fair. Oh. My. Gosh. Let me just start out with the fact that my mom took me TWICE to the fair and it was all under the age of 10. So I have no real memories of it. However, Justin and his family have gone every year of his life and they go all day. So now that I am apart of this clan in some way, I participate as well. And it is always fun. There are so many people to see (some planned, and some are random bumping intos) food to eat, things to do, oh you know the drill. And because this was a jam packed day I'm just going to make a nice little list!
1) Get to fair at 8AM 2) Eat mini cinnamon rolls with Seward and Justin 3) walk around ENTIRE fair area which is accomplished by 5 pm 4) See Seward working at a knitting booth 5) run into dozens of people I know 6) eat Nitro Ice Cream 7) Eat cheese curds 8) Eat a taco 9) Drink apple cider 10) get CAFFEINE! 11) meet up with some friends 12) repeat buildings 13) Sit down lots cuz tiredness is setting in 14) Eat Sweet Martha's cookies 15) drink milk with said cookies 16) Ride rides including a double ferris wheel 17) say goodbye to friends 18) drag yourself home.
That is a VERY super speed explanation of the day, but I have so much more coming at you that I can't waste any time!
Now... the 5 B's
Baby: Evelyn was BORN this weekend! Holly started having contractions on Friday and I got the call while eating at IKEA with some friends (yes... right?? Who knew people went to IKEA just to eat. Good mashed potatoes though!) and so I waited at Justin's until Saturday morning at 9AM. Justin and I met up with my mom in the lobby and we waited a bit and I finally got to see Holly! She was not feeling well because she was hungry and in some pain. And good gracious she went into labor around 1pm and Evelyn was here by 1:18pm!! Justin and I weren't in the room (not ready for that mess) but we were right outside and we heard her first cry. Then I broke out into tears and realized I'm going to be a crazy loving aunt. Oye. So yes, she is one in a million because she was born on her due date which is apparently rare! Holly and baby are finally at home and Evelyn is the best baby ever. Doesn't fuss, rarely cries, sleeps a lot, and so forth. She's prob. content because she has sooo many people who love her. :) PS- I'm the God Mother! Yippee!
Boarding: Wakeboarding that is. I have been able to go quite a few times in the last three weeks and it's been amazing. Sure my muscles are burning because I obviously don't use them ever, and I wake up with a stiff neck from the slams I take into the water, but my goodness. It is WONDERFUL. Especially today. The air was crisp but warmed by the sun, the water felt like bath water, the wind was low and Justin, Nate, and I all accomplished our tasks for today. I was able to go in and out of the wake on both sides and Justin jumped the wake! It was a really good day for it. Sadly it's going to get too cold for this adventure to continue. :( Until next year...
Birthday: It was my mother's BIRTHDAY on Sunday! :) I freakin' love birthdays. And it's even better cuz my mom and Evelyn are right next to each other which will mean labor days will always be crazy full of birthdays. But anyway I got to see my mom (and baby) and I would have to say that she was pretty pumped to be a Grandmother on her birthday this year. And this leads into my other B...
Baking: Justin and I made Debbie's infamous Raspberry Pie. My mom and Holly really love this pie and so I knew this was what my mom was getting from us for her birthday. Justin hadn't made one since the first time we were dating in high school, and Debbie wasn't home to help us (she did help us pick the berries though!) so we were on our own. There were obvious things that we'll need to improve on, but the presentation turned out nice and it tasted very delicious.
Boyfriend: Yes, cheesy B to use, but still. I've been able to hang out with him a lot in the last week or two and it's been really really nice. Besides the fact that I am dating him, I also think in general he is a fun guy to be around. He is interesting and he may push my buttons but goll, I love it. And I love that he was super excited all weekend to see the baby. He is a baby whisperer. I may have even SAID that in my blog before but it's true. He loves babies and they love him back. It's also nice to know that even though we have been dating for almost 18 months ( in 10 days! WOW!) we still are smitten with each other. And not in a puppy love kind of way, but in a way where we are completely content with one another and love to be with each other and be happy and adorable. Okay..sorry. Mushy overload. I'll stop. But he makes my life worth while. I think I'll keep him around for a while. ;)
OKAY DONE SORRY! Thanks for stickin in there with me! I promise to not save my "homework" until the last minute!
Love, A
P.S.- Happy First Day of School All You Kiddos Out There!
